CSAA Statement in Response to Trump’s 27 January EO

On January 27 2017, U.S. President Donald J. Trump issued an Executive Order that aimed to prevent the people from seven countries–Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen–from entry into the country.

The Cultural Studies Association of Australasia is as an Association dedicated not simply to the study, but also to the values of diversity, democracy, inclusivity, and advocacy. We hereby stand against this Executive Order and strongly urge President Trump and his advisors to rescind the Order as a matter of the utmost urgency.
