Members of the CSAA are engaged in Cultural Studies pedagogy, research and social activism at the leading edge of the discipline internationally. Join to be part of this community and engage in dialogues on current developments in Cultural Studies.
Members receive community support, enhanced access to the CSAA website, subscription to the Q1 journal Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies, and a range of incentives offered by the Association. Delegates at the Cultural Studies Association of Australasia annual conference, held in December every second year, automatically become members of the Association. This cost is included in the conference registration fee.
Membership is renewed annually. The CSAA sends all members a reminder to renew when their membership is about to expire.
Membership fees are based on income level. As a goodwill gesture and to reflect the difficulties experienced by most academics during 2020 resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of the annual conference, the CSAA committee has temporarily reduced the membership fees, and will subside the costs to the association.
The temporary membership fee tiers are as follows:
- Professional Tier 2 ($150,000 and above): $190
- Professional Tier 1 ($100,000 – $149,999): $120
- Postgraduate or under $100,000: $50
