The School of Media and Communication seeks a Lecturer who will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the Communication discipline area. The Lecturer will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to the discipline.

The position requires demonstrated ability to teach in the discipline area of Communication in the Master of Communication program. The role requires a full-time Lecturer with a thorough and broad education in communication theory and research; and knowledge of leadership theory and the role of corporate storytelling in leadership. Demonstrated expertise in the role of new media in communication and research techniques would be regarded highly.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a record of achievement in teaching areas related to strategic communication, communication theory, and the role that communication plays in enhancing leadership within corporate, government and/or civil society organisations. The preferred candidate will demonstrate an understanding of undertaking research in order to make informed decision making for strategy development; and demonstrate strong industry links nationally and/or internationally.

Candidates will have a doctorate or PhD within a field related to communication management and practice and will be required to undertake activities in line with the university’s research strategy that emphasises relevant and applied research to advance scholarship and professional engagement.
